Take a day trip to the Kadampa World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY for our 11th Annual Fun Fair on Saturday, June 1st, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Admission and parking is free.
Enjoy this community extravaganza featuring live music, artist vendors, fresh vegetarian food and juice bar, and a variety of activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The concert will showcase both local and regional musicians including Larry Zampino, Queen Bee and The Hive, and Veronica Fernandez.
Named River Reporter's "Best Meditation Center," spend the entire day relaxing and exploring the 82 acres of natural beauty including three onsite nature trails. Inside the World Peace Temple drop into a guided meditation and temple tour offered throughout the fair or peruse the gift shop and Buddhist bookstore. The World Peace Cafe & Coffee Shop features organic, locally roasted coffee and will be offering gourmet desserts and treats as well as views of the pristine natural surroundings.
Kids and families are welcome and can enjoy an entire day of entertainment for children. The kids carnival features a bounce tent, fair games, kids hike, storytelling, face painting, and various craft tables. Affordably-priced vegetarian meals will be served all day.
Visitors are also welcome to make a weekend of it to fully experience all that the Kadampa World Peace Temple has to offer. On Sunday, attend a meditation class and teaching called Prayers for World Peace (by donation) and kids can drop into the Meditation for Kids class ($2), both held from 11:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. will be a community vegetarian lunch ($5). Take an additional day to explore the beautiful grounds onsite. Accommodations, including camping, are available before and after the event. Come early, stay late, and take full advantage of this great summer weekend with something for the whole family. This World Peace Temple is one of only four in the world, and the only one in the US!

Kadampa Meditation Center New York, the World Peace Temple and the beautiful 82-acre grounds are open to the public on most days of the year, except when a major event is being hosted. Located in Glen Spey, New York, on the edge of Orange and Sullivan Counties and less than 2 hours from New York City, getting there is easy and affordable. The Kadampa World Peace Temple in Glen Spey was designed by world-renowned meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and established by the international non-profit organization the International Temples Project 501(c)3, which was founded with the intention of building World Peace Temples for public benefit. The Glen Spey Temple was opened in 2006 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and is one of only four in the world. It is the national Temple for the USA and is part of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union, a worldwide network of Buddhist Centers that are located in over 40 different countries.
The modern Buddhist Temple at Kadampa Meditation Center New York offers meditation classes, day courses, retreats, Buddhist prayers chanted in English and a chance to learn more about the Buddhist way of life. The classes and courses are designed to help those who wish to deepen their understanding of basic Buddhist thought and practice, as well as for those who simply wish to start a meditation practice or to meditate in a group setting. The purpose of the Center is to help people learn practical methods to solve their daily problems and to live a happy and meaningful life.
The Center offers group & corporate visits, mindfulness workshops & presentations, personal retreats, day trips, kids meditation, school field trips, accommodations & meals, and community outreach. The Kadampa World Peace Temple also houses a World Peace Café & Coffee Shop, featuring locally baked goods and vegetarian fare, and a bookstore and gift shop, which carries a range of unique gifts, spiritual inspirations, cards, meditation accessories, Buddhist art, and books on Buddhism and meditation.
