Dear Chamber Members & Friends,
Business leadership is vital to this community’s success. Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce takes this role seriously when it comes to advancing your business and our community interests. The past year has challenged our region and member businesses like never before. For some of our member businesses, the economy has made it more difficult to run a successful business than ever before. Most of our member businesses have had to tap the deepest recesses of their business acumen just to survive. It has
been our job to support them and as creatively and cost effectively as possible, provide them valuable benefits and services. As an organization, the Chamber operates like many of our businesses and during the past year we too have had our share of challenges brought about by the current economic conditions. And, like many of our businesses who have downsized, we too have experienced some contraction. Often, this leads to a leaner and “meaner” organization. In our case, I firmly believe that this has occurred
and it has helped us find ways to work smarter and not harder. We are still able to deliver the quality programs and initiatives our members have counted on us to provide them for many years. The Chamber’s annual “report card” typically signals the end of our fiscal year – a one year race of sorts, while pulling the trigger to start a new race. The reality is however, that we never truly cross the finish line in much of our Chamber’s work for businesses and communities. This report will show
that even with the challenges of the past year, amazing results have occurred by a tremendous group of volunteers who are supported by a talented group of Chamber staff. I know as you review this annual report that you will see many programs that have brought strong value to you and our community. If you are a member of our organization, you can be proud to be part of an elite group of professionals working toward a common goal. Thank you for your commitment and efforts.
Sincerely,
Terri Ward
