Executive Committee:
Chair: Guy Baker
This Committee shall consist of the elected Executive Officers and the immediate past Chairperson. The Executive Committee is empowered to meet and act on urgent business during intervals between regular scheduled Board of Directors’ meetings but is required to meet on a monthly basis.
- Advocacy Committee:This committee shall consist of a chairperson and one (1) additional person. Its function is to offer support and communication of concerns of businesses; act as a voice for member businesses on local, county, regional state levels; keep members informed on legislative issues (set up “power lunches” with guest speaker); survey members for issues of interest; set up Speakers Bureau to promote Chamber.
- Legal/Bylaws Committee: This committee shall consist of a Chairperson and at least two (2) additional members. This committee shall advise the Chamber, from time to time, on relevant legal matters. The chairperson shall also advise the Chamber of appropriate meeting procedures when in attendance thereat.
Membership Committee:
Chair: Guy Baker
This committee shall consist of a Chairperson and at least two (2) additional members. Its function shall be to secure membership in accordance with eligibility requirements of the By-Laws. It shall supervise the voting for elected Officers and members of the Board of Directors by directing ballots to the hands of properly designated members’ representatives, by collecting and counting the ballots and shall announce the results of such election.
Chamber Products and Services Committee:
Chair: Stephen Mitchell
This Committee will actively seek out new benefits for Chamber members which help businesses through bulk buying discounts, new educational seminars, discounted insurances, and any other good or service which is beneficial in recruiting and retaining members of the Chamber of Commerce. These products and services are value added benefits to Chamber members.
- Business Owners' Development Committee: The Committee shall consist of a chairperson and three (3) additional members. Its function shall be to support our existing member businesses and other businesses within our County. The committee shall encourage new businesses in locating and expanding into our area. The committee will cooperate with other local organizations and government agencies to reach these goals. The committee will survey the member business owners to determine how best the Chamber may address their business needs and concerns.
Finance Committee:
Chair: Jennifer Muthig
This committee will be chaired by the Treasurer and shall have two (2) additional members, one of which shall be designated by the Treasurer to be Vice Chairperson of the Finance Committee. One such function shall be to determine an equitable and reasonable dues base that will not discourage membership by any eligible prospect. The committee shall also create operating budgets for the year, and serve with the Treasurer in reviewing adherence to the budget during the fiscal year. The Treasurer shall be an ex-official member of this committee. The vice-chairperson of the Finance Committee shall serve as the acting Treasurer in the event the Treasurer is unable to perform hi/her duties.
Publicity/Marketing Committee:
Chair: Ellen Stratton
This committee shall consist of a Chairperson and at least two (2) additional members. The purpose of this committee shall be to coordinate publicity about the Chamber and its members. It may offer suggestions to show local business owners how to increase their presence in their respective community and in the County through the use of different marketing and publicity techniques.
- Chamber Liaison Committee: This committee shall consist of a Chairperson and one (1) additional person. Its function will be to foster cooperation and communication between the other local chambers and to maintain a global calendar of events to limit where possible the scheduling of conflicting events and to act as a resource center for disseminating information on grants, loans and other sources of funding.
- Fundraising/Special Events Committee: This committee shall consist of a chairperson and at least three additional members. The purpose will be to coordinate the details of each event the Chamber decides to sponsor. Details should include creative ideas, implementation and execution of the entire event, all the way through cleanup and evaluation.
